The Job Isn't Done Until It's Gone

Plenty of fall cleanups end with a row of leaf bags at the curb and a weekend spent figuring out what to do with them. Ours don't. Everything we clear goes on the trailer and leaves with us.

WinterGreen Services handles fall cleanup and leaf removal for homes and businesses across Sioux Falls, Harrisburg, Tea, and Brandon. We clear leaves from the lawn and landscape beds, clean out spent growth, cut back perennials, and haul all of it off, so the property goes into winter clean and comes out of it ready for spring.

What's Included in a Fall Cleanup

Leaf Removal

Leaves cleared from the lawn, beds, walks, fence lines and the corners where they pile up. No volume limits. A heavy year means a bigger job, not a partial one.

Bed Cleanout

Leaves, spent growth and debris pulled out of landscape beds, so they go into winter clean instead of buried.

Perennial Cutbacks

Spent perennials cut back, so beds look finished now and come back in spring without a layer of dead stems to clear first.

Complete Haul-Away

Everything goes on our trailer and off your property. Nothing is bagged and left behind for you to deal with.

What a fall cleanup doesn't cover

Weeding isn't part of a fall cleanup, and gutters are an add-on (see below). Small sticks and the branch pile you've been stacking are, so bring them on. A full limb down or a storm-damaged tree is a different job with different equipment, covered on our storm cleanup and tree removal page.

Add a Gutter Blowout to Your Fall Cleanup

The leaves that end up on your lawn also end up in your gutters. Packed gutters overflow in the next rain, and they can freeze full once temperatures drop.

A gutter blowout is an add-on to a fall cleanup, so the job finishes at the roofline instead of the ground. We clear the gutters with blowers, and use a hand tool on packed mud, reaching them however the property requires. Debris from the gutters goes out with the rest of the cleanup.

Why Fall Leaf Cleanup Matters

Leaves left on a lawn over a South Dakota winter don't just sit there. Once snow presses them flat, they block light and hold moisture against the grass. Those are the conditions behind snow mold and the thin, patchy spots that show up in spring.

Clearing them before the snow sets in is one of the simplest things you can do for next year's lawn. It's also far easier in October and November than in April, when everything is matted down and soaked.

How Much Does Fall Cleanup Cost?

Fall cleanups start at $179. Every property is quoted on what's actually there, and you'll know the price before anything is scheduled.

Fall cleanups from$179

What sets the price

  • Lot size and how much of it is lawn versus beds
  • Number and size of trees, which drives leaf volume
  • How many beds and perennials need cleaning out and cutting back
  • Access: fences, gates, slopes and tight side yards

When to Schedule Fall Cleanup in Sioux Falls

The best time for a fall cleanup is once most of the leaves are down. In the Sioux Falls area that's usually late October into November, though it shifts year to year with the weather.

A fall cleanup is a one-time visit, so timing matters. Go too early and the trees aren't finished; wait too long and snow can bury what's left until spring. Getting your quote in early is the easiest way to land a date in that window.

Skip the Bags and the Drop Site

The City of Sioux Falls runs free seasonal leaf and branch drop sites for residents. Doing it yourself still means raking, bagging, loading, tarping the load, and unloading by hand. Leaves have to come out of any plastic bags before they go on the pile.

A fall cleanup skips all of it. We clear it, load it, and haul it away. Nothing waits at the curb, and nothing goes in your vehicle.

How It Works

  1. Request a quote

Online or by phone at 605-403-0993. Tell us about the property and the trees on it.

  2. Get your price

You'll have a quote before anything is scheduled. Cleanups start at $179.

  3. We clean it up

Leaves, beds and perennial cutbacks, handled in one visit.

  4. It all leaves with us

Everything is loaded on the trailer and hauled off the property.

Commercial Fall Cleanups

Commercial properties collect more than lawns do. Leaves pile against building fronts, blow into parking islands and stairwells, and drift along fence lines, and every one of those is visible to the people walking into your business.

Lawn areas, beds, parking islands, walks and entryways all get cleared and hauled, so the property looks maintained going into winter.

Already using us for commercial lawn care? Fall cleanup is the natural close to the season. And with the leaves gone, it's the right time to lock in commercial snow removal before the season fills.

What Customers Say

Fall Cleanup FAQ

How much does fall cleanup cost in Sioux Falls?

Fall cleanups with WinterGreen Services start at $179. The final price depends on lot size, leaf volume, how many beds and perennials need work, and access. You'll have a quote before anything is scheduled.

What's included in a fall cleanup?

Leaf removal from the lawn and beds, bed cleanout, perennial cutbacks, and hauling everything away. Weeding isn't included.

When should I schedule my fall cleanup?

Once most of the leaves are down, which is usually late October into November in the Sioux Falls area. Because it's a one-time visit, getting your quote in early is the easiest way to land a date in that window.

Do you haul the leaves away?

Yes. Everything we clear goes on the trailer and leaves with us. Nothing is bagged and left at the curb, and there's no trip to the drop site.

Do you clean gutters?

Yes, as an add-on to a fall cleanup. A gutter blowout starts at $129 and covers blowing leaves and debris out of the gutters, with a hand tool for packed mud. It's booked together with a fall cleanup.

Is there a limit on how many leaves you'll take?

No limit. A heavy leaf year means a bigger job, not a partial one, and it's quoted on what's actually there.

Do you offer weekly leaf pickup?

No. Fall cleanup is a one-time visit scheduled once most of the leaves are down, so the whole property is handled in one trip.

Will you take the branch pile I've been stacking?

Yes. Small branches and stick piles are part of a normal cleanup. A full limb down or a storm-damaged tree is a separate job, covered under storm cleanup and tree removal.

Do you do commercial fall cleanups?

Yes. Lawn areas, landscape beds, parking islands, walkways and entryways on commercial properties are all cleared and hauled away.

Do you do spring cleanups too?

Yes. Spring cleanups run once the snow is gone and the ground has dried enough to work on without tearing up turf. You can request a quote any time.

Are you insured?

Yes. WinterGreen Services is fully insured for all seasonal cleanup work.
